[e2e] Tools for analysis of TCP/MAC interaction?

I'm surprised to be hearing about some TCP analysis
tools that I'm unfamiliar with.

We're doing some work to understand how the latency,
jitter, etc. of a particular MAC type interacts with
TCP.  We are particularly interested in the way that 
burstiness (inconsistently) seems to reduce thruput 
in our configuration(though without packet loss).

tcptrace has been a great tool, but are there others
we should know about?  

Any pointers are much appreciated.  Thanks.
