I wasn't aware of the Anthrax threat from ISPs.  Tell me more... :-)

AOL happily enforces certain religious and political prejudices, claiming 
it is required to.

But that's not my concern here.  What I care about is when the tools 
developed for those purposes are neither effective for their purposes, nor 
benign in their impact in other areas.  E.g. middleboxes that fail to be 
transparent.
