In partial defense of Katie (she consulted me a lot during the research phase
for this book), she wanted to a do a longer and more thorough book, but her
publishers didn't think it would sell. I don't know if the focus on BBN was
accidental or deliberate, but I'm pretty sure she didn't mean to slight
others; in addition, her main focus was the ARPANet, in which BBN did of
course have a leading role.

Look on the bright side - the massive amount of research she did on this
(including many interviews with many of the original players) has been made
available to the public in a university archive, where it can serve as source
material for future histories.
