This may be a stupid question as I have not worked on commercial VPNs for many 
years, but what recovery mechanism would the VPN tunnel be using.  Most VPN's 
I was aware of just encapsulate the traffic in a tunnel and provided no 
additional error recovery services.    Is this a common feature?
