From yushunwa at ISI.EDU Mon Nov 13 12:28:24 2006 From: yushunwa at ISI.EDU (Yu-Shun Wang) Date: Mon, 13 Nov 2006 12:28:24 -0800 Subject: [Jabber-users] jabber server problems Message-ID: <4558D568.6040709@isi.edu> Hi, Everyone, There was a building power outage yesterday and as a result, jabber servers for both ISI and Postel.org were shutdown. The building HVAC equipments were being replaced or repaired over the weekend, and the jabber servers were not on the critical list of servers within ISI, so not on the UPS. The service didn't come up automatically (as it should) due to the configuration errors I am currently fixing. I apologize to everyone for the delay, and I'll turn the service over to someone more responsive than I currently am. The servers will be unstable for the next couple of hours as I test the startup scripts. I'll send another note once things are settled. The AIM transport on the main ISI jabber server was upgraded. If you are using the AIM transport feature, please test it again. (The feature is not available on the Postel.org server.) Again, apologize for the inconvenience, and please let me know if you still have problems with the jabber service. yushun as jabber server admin Yu-Shun Wang wrote: > Hi, Everyone, > > There was a building power outage yesterday and as a result, > jabber servers for both ISI and Postel.org were shutdown. > The building HVAC equipments were being replaced or repaired > over the weekend, and the jabber servers were not on the > critical list of servers within ISI, so not on the UPS. > The service didn't come up automatically (as it should) due > to the configuration errors I am currently fixing. > > I apologize to everyone for the delay, and I'll turn the > service over to someone more responsive than I currently > am.
